Magnesium is an essential mineral that supports many physiological functions. It plays a key role in muscle and nerve tissue, in bone health and in regulating the cardiovascular system. Magnesium deficiencies can cause symptoms like restlessness, anxiety, increased sensitivity or muscle tension. It can also result in stiffness and an unwillingness to perform. 

MAGNESIUM PUR from AGROBS® is ideal for preventing or correcting a magnesium deficiency. Whether you use it for competitive or non-competitive purposes, MAGNESIUM PUR promotes muscle relaxation, strong nerves and bone mineralisation to help horses reach their full potential. 

The triple complex combines three sources of magnesium for optimal support: 
  • magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate are an immediate, organically-bound source of magnesium for horses – for physical exertion during training or competition, increased perspiration or acutely stressful situations.
  • By contrast, magnesium oxide is absorbed more slowly and helps build up the horse’s own magnesium reserves in the long term.

Thanks to this clever combination, the horse’s body can make use of the magnesium source that best meets its needs. The perfectly balanced blend also increases absorption in the intestines. 

The grain- and molasses-free recipe is based on hot-air-dried meadow grasses and herbs, plus linseed. These ingredients are not only healthy but also palatable, so even fussy horses will enjoy MAGNESIUM PUR. As well as being highly palatable, the practical pelleted form makes everyday dosage and feeding easy. The product complies with German anti-doping guidelines (ADMR) and is also suitable for use during the competition season to increase sport horses’ wellbeing and willingness to perform.

AREAS OF USE:
  • For the targeted correction of acute magnesium deficiency 
  • For the prevention of a magnesium deficiency at times of increased need (e.g. during growing, ageing, increased athletic performance, pregnancy, lactation) 
  • For mental stress and anxiety  
  • For muscular problems 

Feeding Recommendation

  • 5 g per of 100 kg body weight/day for prevention and long-term feeding 
    • Large horses: 30 g per day (600 kg body weight) 
    • Small horses: 20 g per day (400 kg body weight) 
  • 10 – 15 g per of 100 kg body weight/day for magnesium deficiency or temporarily increased need 
    • Large horses: 60 – 90 g per day (600 kg body weight) 
    • Small horses: 40 – 60 g per day (400 kg body weight) 
  • 1 level measuring spoon = approx. 20 g

We recommend dividing the daily dose into two feeds when feeding higher quantities (from 10 g/100 kg body weight).

This supplementary feed has a higher magnesium content than complete feeds and should only be administered as recommended.

Please discuss dosage with your veterinarian beforehand in cases of kidney or heart disease as well as acute digestive problems.
