Overweight horses should be given no more than 300 g per 100 kg of target body weight.
We recommend moistening the pellets with water for about 3-5 minutes before feeding to avoid obstruction in the throat.
Optimal quantities are between 100 g and 500 g per 100 kg of target body weight.
These fine fibres also have prebiotic properties to support the intestinal flora long-term.
Horse Alpin® Senior: Cereal-based concentrated feed for older horses
AlpenGrün Seniormüsli: Grain free concentrated feed for older horses
Giving a horse dry feed is a decision best left to its owner. In general, AlpenGrün Seniormüsli is appropriate for dry feeding.
Amino acids are not only components of musculature, tendons and ligaments, skin and hair but also components of the immune system and basic substance for enzymes and hormones. Amino acids function as blood protein bodies and fulfil different functions of transportation. They are parts of the membranes, protect the neural pathways and are carries of genetic information.
Why a sufficient supply with all essential amino acids is so important, can be explained by the minimum principle by Liebig.

2. Horses, that are fed low in protein:
- easy keepers / ponies
- horses with EMS
- horses with liver or kidney diseases
- horses, that have a grain-free diet
- horses with summer eczema
But, just as in cases of an extended supply of protein, also excessive and long-lasting feeding of exceeded amounts of Amino Pur (excessively more than the feeding recommendation) can burden the horse's detoxication functions.
Cure-type feeding can be suggested in cases of sporadic increased need, e.g. in the late phase of pregnancy, lactation, after sickness, during coat changing, during training/competition,...
As grain substitute: 1.2 kg of Grünhafer substitute approximately 1 kg of grain.
- For horses with an increased need of fast-available energy.
- For horses that tolerate grain (oats)
As grain substitute: 1 kg of Kraftpaket substitutes approximately 1 kg of grain
It can be used to substitute 1/3 of base feed, if needed.
It can be used to substitute 1/3 of base feed, if needed.
However, it can be used as a filler feed during long periods between meals to encourage continued salivation and act as a buffer against gastric acid. Leichtgenuss can also be mixed with other feeds to help lengthen feeding times and promote chewing. This in turn improves salivation and digestion. Leichtgenuss can help prevent excess acid in the digestive tract, thus making it suitable for horses with sensitive stomachs.
Chopped roughage is not recommended for horses with acute stomach problems, as its coarse structure may bring physical irritation to an already-injured stomach.
As grain substitute: 1.2 kg of Luzerne+ substitute approximately 1 kg of grain
For horses with Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS), one must consider the individual horse and its diet in deciding whether such a supplement is suitable. If you are unsure, contact us for a written consultation by using our contact form.
The skin also benefits from these positive effects, often with the coat quickly taking on a healthy, shiny appearance.
These fatty acids have a positive, anti-inflammatory effect on the entire organism. Camelina and dragon’s head oil, both of which are high in α-linoleic acid and vitamin E, give Omega3 Pur an even better ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids (3:1). It also keeps better than pure linseed oil due to its higher native vitamin E content. The special combination of these three oil seeds also has a hay-like taste that horses like.
One should, however, increase the amount by degrees to give the liver the chance to adapt, so that it can produce and excrete bile accordingly.
We recommend Omega3 Pur particularly during the moulting period and to provide energy that won’t interfere with the body’s metabolism.
For an individual suggestion of the amount for your horse, please talk to our feeding experts.
As all chaffed products, PreAlpin Aspero should be dampened before feeding, if the horse produces too little saliva (e.g. due to insufficient water intake). Some horses prefer PreAlpin Aspero when it was dampened.

Simple transport and feeding, e.g. at competitions, trail rides, during transport...
But because the intake of this feed is a little faster in comparison to the intake of hay, enough occupation (e.g. straw, branches, movement, other horses,…) has to be provided when feeding solely.

Our Pre Alpin Saatgut and our Pferdeweide Sensitiv will keep for up to 6 years when stored under proper conditions (dark, dry, cool, airtight), as grasses are light germinators.
Yes, our seeds are for perennial plants. Resowing every 6 years is sufficient with proper maintenance and conditions.
Our seed mix is designed to be generally suitable for all types of soils. That said, grass seeds germinate better on sandy-loamy, loose soils than on heavy, loamy, compacted soils. For difficult or unfavourable soil conditions, we recommend using our Pre Alpin Saatgut seed mix.
Grass seeds should be sown either in spring or autumn. It's important that the soil is warm and damp and that no nightly frosts are expected. From experience, we say that the best months for sowing are March/April and October.
Sow seeds 1 cm below the surface of the soil.
For a new seeding, use 30 kg per hectare of our Pre Alpin Saatgut or 40 kg per hectare of our Pferdeweide Sensitiv.
If reseeding, used 10–20 kg per hectare depending on existing vegetation.
For reseeding with our Kräutermix, use about 1–2 kg per hectare.
Do not use Kräutermix for complete or new seeding!
If more than 50% of the soil is either bare or covered with weeds, aim for a completely new seeding.
Before new seeding, it is best to do a soil test to learn your soil's nutrient composition. However, proper fertilisation is also a basic element in maintaining a functioning pasture.
Perennial ryegrass is an extremely hardy, high-yield, low grass with a high nutritional value. It is characterised by a dense turf, good tread resistance and good regrowth. Perennial ryegrass is indispensable for maintaining dense turf on difficult, stressed, or weedy sites.
The use of which seed mix depends on the horses grazing the site and the prevailing soil conditions.
In general, we recommend the use of our Pre Alpin Saatgut for difficult soil conditions (dry, compacted, weedy).
Pferdeweide Sensitiv has a composition that is well suited for easy doers and horses with sensitive metabolisms.
Kräutermix lets you increase your pasture's species diversity.
The form of administration is different. Weidemineral-Cobs can be fed by hand like a treat. This form of administration is even better when feeding within the herd (e.g. in case of all-day pasture).
Our Wiesenbussi treats make great rewards and can be given out several times daily.
Our Wölbchenbussi treats make great rewards and can be given out several times daily. Wölbchenbussi treats are also the ideal size for use as rewards during clicker training or groundwork.
Our Wölbchenbussi/Wiesenbussi are made without any molasses.
The listed sugar values reflect the purely native, natural sugar contents of the individual ingredients. This means that they contain no added industrial sugar.
Wölbchenbussi/Wiesenbussi treats can be given freely in accordance with your horse's level of exercise and nutritional requirements.
Yes, absolutely. Wölbchenbussi treats are low in starch and sugar, so they are suitable for horses with metabolic disorders.
Yes, horses with metabolic disorders may also be given Wiesenbussi in appropriate amounts. Wiesenbussi treats are low in starch and sugar, so they are suitable for horses with metabolic disorders.
Honey is the last ingredient listed and is present only in very small amounts. Therefore, Wiesenbussi are suitable for EMS/Cushing's horses in moderate quantities.
Yes, Wölbchenbussi/Wiesenbussi contain no cereals whatsoever.
